For this special logo design request from FT Precision in Ohio, two of my classmates and I, Cora Andrews and Melody Newsome, were tasked with creating a unique logo design for FTP’s 30th anniversary logo to celebrate the company. My group and I along with the class drafted many ideas and ultimately, our group design was chosen to focus on.

In our logo, the circle element was used as a container for the information as well as splitting that circle into a gear shape, highlighting the car manufacturing aspect of the company, as they design and manufacture parts for cars, but not the cars themselves. The “Good Times” typeface was used as the main typographical element in the design because it is a san serif type which makes it easy to read but also, it’s more mechanical style helps accentuate the company’s manufacturing aspect. The hand holding graphic in the middle of the logo shows community, as it is a company that really cares about the community and wants to give back, so a lot of emphasis was put on that graphic to communicate that message. The colors used are the same as their current logo along with a shiny grey metal gradient on some of the type to give that metallic feel of the design.
